Term dates are set by the local authority and can be found here.

In addition to this there are five teacher training days. Please note these could be subject to change.

School Holidays During Term Time

The Government has amended regulations for taking holidays in term time and these new regulations come into effect from September 2013.

Head teachers have the discretion to grant leave, but they should only do so in exceptional circumstances. If a head teacher grants a leave request, it will be for them to determine the length of time that the child can be away from school. This leave is unlikely, however, to be granted for the purposes of a family holiday.  Parents can be fined for taking their child on holiday during term time without consent from the school.

If you would like to request that your child is absent from school during term time please complete a Leave of Absence During Term Time Form, which is available in the downloadable forms section of visit the school office.

Please note that there are new guidelines in place and unless there is an “exceptional reason” for taking children out of school in term time school will not authorise the absence. If you require time off in term time please discuss this with the head teacher. For further details as to what qualifies as “exceptional reason” for us and other local schools, please see below.
